A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri says no aspirant from the South East can clinch the 2023 presidential ticket of the uling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated this in a tweet on Friday while airing his views on the presidential ambition of some Igbo politicians.
Some prominent politicians from the South East vying for the APC ticket are Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, Senator for Imo West, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and Minister for Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.
According to Omokri, President Buhari would not allow an Igbo politician clinch the party’s ticket.
He wrote, “If any Igbo thinks he will get the APC ticket, he is deluded. Buhari detests you. He only tolerates you. How many Igbo are in Aso Rock? The highest ranking Igbo on Buhari’s staff is Sunday Aghaeze, his photographer. Ben Akabueze is at Budget Office, not Aso Rock!”
