White wedding not Christian wedding – Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has charged Africans to stop mistaking “white wedding” for Christian wedding.

The Oxford Dictionary described a white wedding as a “traditional church wedding at which the bride wears a formal white dress”.

It first became popular with Victorian era elites after Queen Victoria (of Britain) wore a white lace dress at her wedding.

According to Omokri, a white wedding is a white people’s tradition that Africans are under no obligation to adopt.

The US-based pastor added that it is unscriptural.

He said an intending African couple could marry at home, or at a registry, or according to native custom.

Omokri said, “In 2021, leave WHITE WEDDINGS for WHITE people. It is their tradition.

“Your Black African native wedding is not inferior to a white wedding. Emancipate yourself from the mental slavery of European customs.

“White wedding is NOT a Christian wedding! You can marry at home, or at a registry, or according to native custom.

“Each of these are acceptable before God, and are not less holy than white weddings.

“Read Scripture. You will find Jewish, Palestinian and Babylonian weddings. You won’t find a white wedding!”
