BREAKING: Reps reject Castration punishment for Rapists

Members of House of Representatives have rejected the recommendation of Castration as the capital punishment for Rapists.

Considering the rising cases of sexual violence in Nigeria, lawmaker James Faleke raised the motion of castrating sex offenders.

However, Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the house questioned what would happen in the event an elder female rapes a younger male.

The lawmakers put the prayer to vote and it was rejected by the majority, The Nation reports.

This is coming on the heels of the gruesome murder of Uwaila Omozuwa, 100l UNIBEN student who was raped and murdered in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
