Despite the lockdown however, dozens of hoodlums have managed to terrorise communities in the state as they go from house to house robbing, pillaging and maiming their victims.

Social media was agog from Friday night till early hours of Saturday as resident of Ifo, Adiyan, Moricas, Ijoko, Agbado, Oke Aro, Sango, Itoki and Lemode areas of Ogun State decried attacks by these hoodlums who allegedly also murdered some of their victims.

The attacks grew so rampant and violent that residents took up the job of the police and became Vigilantes on their various streets and communities.

Every night for the last one week residents have burned tyres and patrolled their streets overnight for fear of armed robbery attacks.

There were also reports of gunshots as the emergency vigilantes did not deter the Hoodlums who were armed.

Starting from 11:47 pm, they moved from house to house in almost all the communities, stealing, maiming and terrorising.

This prompted Ogun State residents to cry out on social media for the government and the police to come to their aid.

The efforts of the residents turned vigilantes paid off a little as one of the hoodlums was apprehended and subsequently lynched by a crowd of angry residents in Ogun State. See the video below.
