A Nigerian man has been sentenced to 21 years for stabbing another teen to death over an argument the two had on a Whatsapp group.

The incident happened in 2017 when Paul Akinnuoye, of Cobbetts Ride, Tunbridge Wells killed 19-year-old Jordan Wright on 19 April 2017 on Hervey Road in Blackheath.

According to the Police, the victim, Wright, was stabbed in the chest, he was rushed to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The two were acquaintances on a Whatsapp group and they got into an argument. So heated was the argument that the two decided to meet for a fight so as to settle their score.

When they met at the park, the duo engaged in a fight and it was then that Akinnuoye stabbed Wright fatally.

Wright was then carried out of the park and he collapsed at the park’s entrance.

Wright was said to have stated that he was feeling unwell after which residents around the area came to his aid, administered first aid and waited until he could be taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he eventually died.

Akinnuoye wasn’t the only one arrested as three others were also arrested on suspicion of murder. They were eventually released.
