Singer and fashion icon Rihanna has announced she is pregnant with her third child, revealing the news on the red carpet at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City.
The 37-year-old star, dressed in a white custom ensemble, cradled her baby bump as she arrived—fashionably late—at the annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, joined her on the navy carpet lined with daffodils and confirmed the news to cheering reporters.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” A$AP Rocky said. “I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy.”
This year’s Met Gala theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, marked the first time since 2003 that the exhibition focused exclusively on menswear. A$AP Rocky, one of the event’s co-chairs, appeared in a sharply tailored look that nodded to the evening’s theme, while Rihanna’s dramatic outfit drew admiration from fans and fashion critics alike.
The couple already share two sons—RZA, born in May 2022, and Riot, born in August 2023. Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, has become known for her high-profile and often unconventional pregnancy reveals. She famously debuted her first pregnancy with a Harlem photo shoot in 2022 and confirmed her second during her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance.
Rihanna’s latest reveal follows a growing trend of celebrity pregnancy announcements at the Met Gala. In 2023, Serena Williams and Karlie Kloss also used the high-fashion event to debut their baby bumps.
Speculation had been building earlier in the evening, with paparazzi capturing Rihanna entering the Carlyle Hotel—her usual pre-Met Gala stop—clad in a voluminous outfit that sparked rumors online.
Neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky have commented further on the baby’s due date or gender. However, fans around the world have taken to social media to celebrate the news.
