Rio 2016: Golden Finish for Brazil, wins Men’s Volleyball Finals

It was a golden finish for host country Brazil, when they defeated Italy in the men’s volley ball in the final day of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The Brazilian team had lost to the Italians in  a preliminary match but won the final 25-22-28-26-24; earning their seventh Gold medal in the Games.

24 hours  before, Brazil had won the gold in the football tournament, putting Italy in second place. This golden victory made up for their defeat in the London 2012 Summer Olympics, when they lost to Russia, after missing two match points.

Brazil won gold in Men’s volleyball  when it defeated Italy in Athens 2004 Summer Olympics.
