Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Hon. Fred Igwe was attacked and shot by assailants earlier today.
He was able to escape with his life but suffered injuries.
The commissioner is receiving treatment at a hospital in Port Harcourt. Rivers State police public relations have confirmed the incident but are mum on details.
