Link Road Rehabilitation Begins at Ikorodu LG

The Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos, Mr. Wasiu Adesina, on Monday, said the council had commenced rehabilitation of link roads to ease traffic congestion in the area.

Adesina made the disclosure during the inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation of the 426m Sholafun-Anibaba link road in Ikorodu.

The council boss said that the link roads would save commuters from spending hours on the road.

According to the council boss, the newly-rehabilitated Sholafun Road will ease traffic inwards Igbogbo and outwards Ikorodu to Lagos Island.

He said that the link road would also ease traffic at Ota-Ona T-Junction and unlock the bottleneck on the Obafemi Awolowo axis.

“The council has taken upon itself to rehabilitate all the link roads for easy access and free flow of traffic on major roads.

“This link road will serve as an alternative road, it will unlock the bottleneck at Ota-Ona T-Junction and free commuters from waiting too long in traffic.

“The road is expected to be completed in six months,” Adesina said.

The chairman advised the residents to stop dumping refuse on drains, to avoid flooding of the roads, adding that car washers should properly channel water during their operations.

The council boss assured the people of more dividends of democracy in fulfillment of his campaign promises.

He urged youths to shun violence and be responsible citizens.

He said that his administration would work effectively to ensure that Ikorodu would become a commercial hub and attract investors.
