Robbers Kill First Class Graduate And 400 Level Student In Nasarawa

Two youths, a first class graduate of Economics and a 400-level student of English Department of the Federal University, Lafia. were killed by Armed Assailants on Tuesday.

PUNCH correspondents learnt that the robbers invaded Mararaba-Akunza village in the Lafia Local Government Area of the state around 10pm on Tuesday. The men shot non stop, killing the two victims in the process.

DSP Kennedy Idirisu the Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, verified the incident to our correspondent on Wednesday.

He said “one of the victims died on the spot, the other gave up at a hospital, their remains had been deposited at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital mortuary, Lafia.”

Mr. Abubakar Ibrahim, the Public Relations Officer of the university, said “one of the deceased had graduated and was processing his final clearance, while the other was a 400-level student.”

Ibrahim revealed that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Sanusi-Liman, had commiserated with the families of the deceased, he also added that they were being mourned by the university community.

Some students appealed to the university management to beef up security around the school to prevent another happening like this.
