Two goals each from Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Nacho Fernandez and a curler from Luka Modric secured a 7-1 victory for Real Madrid over Deportivo La Coruna.

The victory on Sunday evening at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu ended a three-game winless run for the La Liga title holders.

Deportivo’s Adrian Lopez had put the visitors in front spiking fears that Los Blancos’ horrible run of form in La Liga would continue.

But brilliant teamwork from the title holders ensured Nacho pull them level, setting them on a roll.

However, Rinaldo was substituted minutes after his second as Deportivo defender, Schar’s book cut him in the eye, causing blood to gush out.

The Portugal star has now netted six times in the league, 11 behind his bitter rival Lionel Messi, who tops the La Liga top scorer’s chart with 17.

With the victory, Zinedine Zidane’s side have 35 points from 19 games, five behind third-place Valencia, but with a game in hand.
