Sadio Mane Breaks Premier League Record

1 Min Read

Senegal’s Sadio Mane scored the first goal in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth taking his tally of the season to 10 this season

That goal also made him the most prolific Senegalese ever to grace the premier league

That title one belonged to Demba Ba who played for Chelsea and Newcastle amongst others and was a handy goalscorer too

But the 26-year-old Mane who arrived in England a mere four years ago from RB Salzburg, has now broken that record. Demba Ba had 43 goals in English top flight football, Mane now has 44 and it is clear that he’s going to continue scoring before he leaves.

Mane was first at Southampton and scored 21 goals in two seasons with the Saints before taking the travel-worn path from Southampton to Liverpool last season.

While it took Mane 120 games to reach this particular milestone, it took Demba Ba only 99 games to hit 43 goals in his career.

Ba is currently playing in Turkey with Goztepe.
