Mohamed Salah will indeed play in the World Cup in  Russia.

This will come as a relief as many feared that the magical Egyptian would miss the showpiece after getting injured in the Champions League Final against Real Madrid.

But the Egyptian FA was pleased to announce that the striker would be fit for the world cup and that his injury will only be for a 3 week period.

Hani Abo Rida, president of the Egyptian FA, confirmed this stating that while the Egyptian would likely miss the start of the tournament, he’ll be able to play in it.

A statement released by the EFA on their official social media channels read: “After the meeting of Abo Rida and the doctor of the national team in Spain today, the Football Association reaffirms that, God willing, Salah’s absence at the World Cup will not exceed three weeks.”

While Egypt’s clash with Uruguay on the 15th of June might come too soon for him, it is believed that he might be able to make the clash against hosts Russia on June 19.

Salah has been the darling of the football-watching world with his scintillating displays for Liverpool which has earned him a legion of adoring fans worldwide.
