The Sector Commander warned that Mobile Courts would be in session across the state to prosecute traffic violators.

Muhammad explained that the deployment was to

ensure safer roads during the festive period.

He listed roads affected to include  Maraban Isa, Audu Jongwan, Audu Ogbe Farm, Rigachikun bridge, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, and Birnin Yero.

Muhammad said the deployment was part of the Corps strategic goals of reducing road crashes by 15 percent and fatalities by 20 percent.

“It is also designed to address the perennial rise in  violation of traffic rules and regulations especially during festive seasons.”

He added that the intensive special patrol would address the spate of avoidable road crashes usually associated with the surge of human and vehicular traffic across the country.

“It is an all-inclusive exercise which will witness high visibility, intensive patrols, prompt rescue services, strict enforcement of traffic rules, and robust public enlightenment campaigns in Kaduna State.

“The exercise will also witness route lining for traffic control and traffic calming among motorists by Officers and Men of the Corps in the Sector Command and 12 Unit Commands.

“In addition, eight ambulance service points will be deployed along six major routes.

“The routes include, Kaduna- Abuja, Kaduna-Zaria, Zaria- Kano, Zaria-Giwa, Kaduna-Birnin Gwari and Kaduna-Kachia highways, as part of measures to mitigate speed-related crashes during the festive season,” he said.

Muhammad warned motorists to ensure strict compliance to COVID-19  protocols and all traffic rules and regulations,  as well as ensure that their vehicles are road-worthy.
