Samsung Galaxy Note 7: Replacement Models Also Having Battery Issues

1 Min Read

Samsung is having a bit of a rough patch. They had to endure huge public backlash when their Galaxy Note 7 was having battery issues, some of which were really bad to the extent that some phones literally blew up.

The South Korean company had to recall the product and start replacing them with new models that were supposed to have better batteries, but according to reports this has not been the case with the replacement models also having battery issues.

the new handsets are suffering overheating and sharp drops in battery power even when charging.

A Samsung spokesperson stated the battery issues are “isolated cases” and told the WSJ the overheating claims are not dangerous.

According to Bloomberg, the cause of the Galaxy Note 7 battery issues possibly stemmed from the original battery being too large for the device, which then allowed volatile components within the batteries to interact and ignite.

Samsung have said that they hope to have 60-70% of the old Galaxy Note 7 devices off the market by next week.
