Photos: Pro-Saraki Protesters Rally As Saraki Appears In Court

Gabriel Esegine, a counsel of the prosecution, disclosed that the trial of Bukola Saraki was on Monday, April 18, stood down for an hour due to the absence of Rotimi Jacobs, the counsel to the federal government, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in Abuja.

Gabriel revealed that Jacobs was away at the Court of Appeal, working on another case.

He asked that the case be stood down for an hour until Jacobs returns.

Danladi Umar, the presiding judge,therefore stood down the case till 12pm.

However, this is the ninth time Bukola Saraki, the Senate President has appeared at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

The first time he appeared in court was September 22 2015.

Saraki has been charged with 13 counts of false declarations of assets while he was the governor of Kwara state.
Some pro-Saraki protesters were also seen around the court premises showing support for the Senate president.
