A similar victory was recorded in the House of Assembly elections too. APC polled 573 votes, while PDP polled 80 votes.

Saraki lamented that the low turnout of voters in the state is as a result of the additional security forces that were deployed to the state. He equally mentioned that card readers did not work properly at some polling stations.

On the other end, Abdulrazaq did not buy any of Saraki’s complaints. He stated, “The security officials worked very well. They were not enough, but those who were deployed worked hard.”

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed also commended INEC for conducting the election the way they did. However, he lamented that thugs attacked APC members in some areas in the state.
