Mr Musa Damagum, the state SDG coordinator made this known on Sunday in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu.
“We have sent 50 youths for training as auto mechanics at the kaduna Peugeot Automobile Company Nigeria.

“Our objective is actually to upgrade their skills in terms of latest skills and knowledge in automobile maintenance.

“Because we noticed that most of the mechanics we have are lagging behind because of the new generation cars that are ICT driven.

“And most of the mechanics have probably learned from the cars that were produced in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

“So there is a need for them to come up to the speed, which will increase their productivity and marketability,” he said.

He noted that, the gesture would compliment the government’s efforts by reducing unemployment among youths in the state.

He said that the SDG also plans to establish ‘Moduler Workshops’ in various locations across the state, which would comprise all automobile specialists in one place.
