Former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has been denied accreditation to participate in the inauguration of the 9th Senate

Okorocha had arrived at the National Assembly on Tuesday morning and headed straight to the office of Sani Omolori, clerk of the assembly

He, however, walked out of Omolori’s office after some minutes, leaving the premises in the process.

Herald Nigeria learnt that Okorocha had attempted to convince the clerk to accredit him for the exercise but he did not succeed.

Okorocha had contested the Imo west senatorial district election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared the winner.

But Innocent Ibeabuchi, the returning officer for the election, later said he declared the former governor winner of the election under duress, thus leading to the seizure of his certificate of return.

Despite a court ruling in favour of Okorocha, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) insisted that it was worried about “rewarding bad behaviour”.
