Senator Adeleke Failed the only Subject He wrote in our Exams – WAEC

It would seem that despite the allegations against him, Senator Adeleke actually took part in WAEC exams despite failing the only subject he wrote in the entire exams; English Language.

The West African Examinations Council confirmed this before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Bwari, Abuja.

The Examination body told the court that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, sat for its examination in 1981 in compliance with an order issued by Justice Othman Musa on September 11.

Senator Adeleke was listed as number 149 out of the 221 candidates that sat for the May/June 1981 examinations of the Council at Ede Muslim High School in Ede, Osun State in the documents WAEC presented before the court.

WAEC also revealed that Senator Adeleke only sat for English Language in the exams which included Mathematics, Literature in English, Islamic Knowledge, Geography, Economics and Biology; he got F9 in the subject.

WAEC had been directed by the court to produce the SSCE results for Senator Adeleke in a ruling on an ex parte application by two plaintiffs, Mr. Wahab Raheem and Mr. Adam Habeeb.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Musa had specifically ordered the examination body to produce the ledger containing results of Senator Ademola and his mates with whom he sat for the examinations.

Justice Musa had also ordered the examination body to swear to an affidavit either denying or confirming that the Senator indeed sat for the Council’s May/June 1981 examinations conducted by the Council at Ede Muslim High School in Ede, Osun State.

The Judge had ordered its ruling to be carried out by WAEC within five days of being duly served.

The court went further to order both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as the  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to show cause within five days from the day of service of the originating summons” why they should not be stopped from recognising Adeleke’s candidacy.

Senator Adeleke who is contesting for the governorship of Osun state on the platform of the PDP had been accused of result forgery by his fellow party members who were not happy with his emergence as the PDP candidate for the governorship poll.

The Senator however denied the allegations saying it was a lie being peddled by his political detractors.
