Dino Melaye, the former lawmaker who represented Kogi West senatorial district in the 8th senate, claimed that his successor, Senator Smart Adeyemi, has started making moves to take over his contracts.
Melaye who made this claim on Thursday, December 12, through his official Twitter handle stated that Senator Adeyemi wrote and visited all the ministries and agencies were he has projects in the constituency.
Dino said the new lawmaker demanded that his (Melaye’s) project of supply of computers to Titcom college, Egbe be awarded to his (Adeyemi’s) company after procurement processes have been completed.

The former lawmaker also warned his successor that he was under surveillance, saying; “Smart Adeyemi wrote & visited all MDA’s where i have projects in Kogi West.
“He was in SMEDAN yesterday asking that my project of supply of computers to Titcom college Egbe be awarded to his company after procurement processes have been completed. 3rd eye watching all concern.”

Meanwhile, The Herald reported that Senator Dino Melaye said that the newly elected senator representing Kogi West, Smart Adeyemi, was his ‘political wife’, saying that he would reclaim his mandate.
Melaye made that known while lamenting the outcome of Saturday’s Rerun Senatorial election in Kogi state.
He vowed to reclaim his seat at the Senate, adding that he started politics before Adeyemi, hence he would still remain his political wife no matter what happened.
