Senator for Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, Shehu Sani has recounted how he miraculously escaped death travelling in a Kaduna-Abuja train in the aftermath of a bandit attack.

He made the disclosure in a Facebook post on Thursday.

The vocal politician noted that an explosive planted by bandits damaged the rail track and nearly caused the train to derail.

Sani wrote, “Yesternight, bandits attacked the Kaduna-Abuja train.

“They planted an explosive that damaged the rail track and shattered the windshield of the train engine.

“They also opened fire, targeting the driver and the tank.”

The rights activist added that the incident occurred between the Dutse and Rijana stations, causing the driver to struggle to move towards Kaduna’s Rigasa station.

“This early morning, I was on board when our train ran over another explosive-damaged railings.

“The train nearly skid off its track, then we miraculously escaped.

“All Kaduna Abuja train operations need to be suspended for today until this issue is addressed,” Sani wrote.
