Serbia Spank Super Eagles

The Super Eagles were on Tuesday night thrashed by Serbia 2-0 in a 2018 World Cup tune-up game played in London.

The two goals came courtesy of a 68th- and 81st-minute strike from Aleksandar Mitrović, who plies his trade with English championship side, Fulham, on loan from Newcastle.

Mitrovic had earlier been denied a goal when a ball that clearly crossed the line was not awarded by the linesman, drawing mild protests from the Serbians.

The Super Eagles looked unlike the menacing side that had defeated Poland 1-0 on Friday, putting up a tepid performance that ensured goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was kept busy all night.
