Colombian pop star, Shakira, has confirmed that her scheduled concert in Peru will go ahead as planned, just a day after she was briefly hospitalized, forcing the cancellation of a previous performance.

The 48-year-old singer was admitted to a hospital on Saturday night after a sudden health concern, leading her to call off her Sunday show. However, in an Instagram post on Monday, Shakira assured fans that the concert at the National Stadium in Lima would proceed, with gates opening at 4:00 pm (2100 GMT) ahead of an 8:15 pm performance.

Her statement did not address her health status, but events company Masterlive also confirmed the show would take place as scheduled. The organizers added that a new date for Sunday’s canceled concert would be announced soon.

Shakira is currently on her first world tour in seven years, titled Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore). The tour kicked off in Rio de Janeiro just days after she won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. During her acceptance speech, she dedicated the award to migrants in the United States facing deportation.

With over 90 million records sold worldwide and four Grammy Awards to her name, Shakira remains one of the most successful Latin artists of all time. Her tour includes nearly 50 dates across Latin America before continuing to the United States and Canada later this year.
