Shehu Sani reacts to abduction of assistant commissioner of police, Musa Rabo

Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna state lawmaker in the eighth national assembly on Monday, October 19, reacted to the abduction of an assistant commissioner of police, Musa Rabo.

The Herald earlier reported that the police had rescued Rabo, Suleja area commander, Niger state was kidnapped on Saturday, October 19.  Sani explained that abduction of Rabo shows that our police officers need protection too.

The senator made the reaction on his official Twitter page on Monday, October 21. He said: “Our Cops too needs protection against Kidnappers.”

Meanwhile,  The Herald earlier reported that Sani advised President Muhammadu Buhari against leaving a legacy of rights violations behind at the end of his tenure.

Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, said that history would not be kind to the president if he allows himself to be tempted, provoked or instigated into abusing the rights of Nigerian

The vocal ex-lawmaker stated this on Twitter on Wednesday amidst a clampdown by security agencies on #RevolutionNow protesters in Lagos and some other parts of the country on Monday. Sani said that Nigerians would not defend Buhari’s actions when he leaves office, urging him to toe the path of rule of law.

He wrote, “The President must avoid leaving behind a poisonous legacy of rights violations no matter the temptation, provocation & instigation by those encouraging it. Nigerians don’t have the culture & history of defending the actions of their Presidents When they leave office.”
