Acting National Chairman of the Peoples ‎Democratic Party (PDP) has threatened to initiate disciplinary process, in line with PDP Establishment Manual‎, against any member staff who fails to heed his directive to return to work.

In a statement on Tuesday, Sheriff reminded the workers that they supposed to be apolitical in the PDP leadership crisis as to do otherwise would amount to a breach of their terms and conditions of employment.

‎The statement, which was signed by Bernard Mikko, directed any staff that had not resumed duties after Prof. Oladipo’s statement to report to work immediately.

“Failure to heed the call by the National Secretary will attract disciplinary procedures as the staff is deemed to be conversant with their terms and conditions of employment, particularly the PDP Establishment Manual that stipulates that they remain apolitical,” the statement added.

“All staff of the PDP National Secretariat that have not resumed duties should immediately go back to work.

“This notice serves as another opportunity for the staff of the to take advantage of the magnanimity of the leadership of Sheriff and resume duties in line with the press statement issued after the meeting of the National Working Committee of Wednesday March 1, 2017 and signed by the National Secretary, Prof Wale Adewale.

“Failure to heed the call by the National Secretary will attract disciplinary procedures as the staff is deemed to be conversant with their terms and conditions of employment, particularly the PDP Establishment Manual that stipulates that they remain apolitical.”

He said that recent events and pronouncements of some members of staff under the aegis of PDP Welfare Association, had shown that they had breached their terms of employment and conditions of service.

He said that the workers were now engaging in the selection, determination and emergence of their bosses who he said remain the bosses of the workers, adding that “this gross abuse of office and totally unacceptable.”
