In an interview granted to the Daily Sun Newspaper in Ukpor, Anambra state, Chief Mbazulike Amechi, a frontline nationalist, revealed that there are eight powerful men within Buhari’s cabinet and his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) who may act as interference to his plans and government.
He stated that the country is at war and should be in a “declared or undeclared state of emergency” in order to oppose the forthcoming war.
Amechi said that if he met President Buhari he would tell him the following: “I will tell him, my dear General, sorry Mr President, are you not worried about the state of the country, which we handed over to you on a platter of gold in May last year?
“What I will tell him depends on his attitude to the situation. I am not near enough to know how free he is because you may have a president who is shackled by lieutenants and colleagues in the party. And he, being a military man more than a politician may not understand the game very well. There are some people who get rich in the midst of crisis.
“There are people who are empowering themselves by the present chaotic situation in the country. And if such people encircle a president, that president is in serious trouble. I don’t know if Buhari is in that state now.
“But there are some people even outside his cabinet who are very powerful. They have stolen so much money in this country that if he doesn’t take care they might even do something to him. There are such people. There are eight of them in his government; in his political party, who are so powerful in every way that if he doesn’t take their way they will do something to him.”
He also stated that the major hinderance in the fight against corruption is that “there is corruption in Buhari’s government.”
Buahris doesn’t need your advice. He has surrounded himself with wise men that will do the job. And if you say that they are empowering themselves because of the chaotic situation in the country, it is ridiculous, because there is no chaotic situation what is going on is the repositioning of the economy from the damage of all the previous administrations.
Repositioning of the economy takes time and because the president understands this, he then used the opportunity to block leakages in the system by introducing the TSA. The people who you say are outside his cabinet and are powerful will only be treated as criminals because president Buhari will not be controlled.
Saying what is not true is attacking our democracy. President Buhari is able to content with those who thinks they can scuffle his good works. So an advise to Mbazulike is to keep quite and do his own part to promote our democracy.
This is not what is expected at a time as this, we should do what we need to do and not start making unnecessary insinuating comments about the sitting president of the country just because we are in a democracy. What would have happened if it wasn’t so.
Mr President, I believe would do what he should do in order to get the best for Nigeria. Yes there may be saboteurs, but it is not peculiar to us as a nation, it is everywhere, it is believed that Mr President would do what is in his capacity not to allow people with divergent opinions to affect his work as president.
The Nigeria of today is not what we want to be foreever, it is believed that the president would be able to do what is in his capacity without allowing wrong people influennce him in order for the nation to be very productive.
Who is this Amechi? He claims that there are people controlling President Buhari, where did he get this from?
Can he prove such claims? Please leave us alone and face your work! Enough is enough!
Point of correction Chief Mbazulike Amechi, President Buhari is not worried about ‘the 8 men’ you refer
to as threats in his cabinet/government because this is just a fluke from your biased insinuations. The men in his cabinet were carefully selected and presented to the senate for proper screening. Many Nigerians followed the screening process and we did not see them as threats; so it is unreasonable and unwise to
conclude that these men will act otherwise.
It is obviously a failed attempt by a bitter Nigerian statesman and elder to create unnecessary doubt and fear
in the minds of our dear Nigerians. He even went as far as saying our country is in a war, which war? President Mohammadu Buhari is not in trouble, he is aware of the many happenings around and he is working tirelessly to improve the economic crisis that has plagued the country in recent times.
Chief Mbazulike Amechi you are too old for the gimmick you are riding on, Nigerians are smarter than to fall
for your carefully constructed lies and false hearsays as to how some people will destroy a man who is not just capable of protecting himself, but will use everything in his power to protect his people. President Mohammadu Buhari has done this with the present insurgence going on in the North, Boko Haram will be
history because of President Buhari’s resilience and love for humanity.
Going by the complexities in our governance, not to talk of the many disruptions the past administration left behind, it is only wise for a brilliant and thoughtful president like President Mohammadu Buhari to hire men who are highly resourceful, have the technical know-how, and whom by their precedents have proved beyond every reasonable doubt they are capable to deliver on their jobs.
President Buhari is a focused leader who is ready to lay down his life for this country regardless of what it takes. So, Chief Amechi should stop entertaining any fear about the situation of the country.
As far as Nigeria in concerned, and with President Buhari at the centre, there should be no cause for alarm because the sitting president is in full control of things as it were.
The thinking that some group of people within the cabinet and in the APC are doing everything to frustrate the developmental stride of Buhari has already failed. They would be shown the way out if caught.

Obviously president Buhari carefully chose the people in his cabinet and there is no way he would put people that will control him in his cabinet. He has already made it clear when he said ‘he is for nobody and he is for everybody’. He knows what he is doing when he said that. Even if Amaechi doesn’t believe in the governance of Buhari; as he had made it clear in his comments, that doesn’t mean the rest of Nigerians won’t. Buhari is definitely working towards the change that this country needs so there is no way the country can collapse under the control of a credible president like him.
