A woman in her 30s, shot her boyfriend at YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California on Tuesday. She also shot other people before turning the gun on herself.

The woman, identified as Nasim Aghdam, went into the YouTube HQ which has over 1000 employees and opened fire.

The other victims were a 32-year-old woman, a 27-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man who were transported to the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital with gunshot wounds.

Aghdam reportedly had a number of YouTube accounts and a website where she allegedly voiced concerns about YouTube and its monetisation policies. On her personal website she had accused YouTube of preventing her videos from getting views. She had reportedly said; “There is no equal growth opportunity on YouTube or any other video sharing site. Your channel will grow if they want to!”

She reportedly had no relationships with anyone at YouTube HQ.

According to reports, the suspect approached an outdoor patio and dining area at the offices in San Bruno, near San Francisco, at about lunchtime and opened fire with a handgun.

Barberini said officers arrived at the offices at 12:48 (19:48 GMT) local time to find a “chaotic scene”, with numerous people fleeing.
