Shootings in Maiduguri: Army calls for calm

The Nigerian Army on Wednesday called for calm in Maiduguri after hours of shootings were heard in the outskirts of the town in the evening, resulting in panic around Damboa road, Old G.R.A.

But Lt.-Col. Kinsley Samuel, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations Department, said in a statement in Maiduguri that the situation was under control.

He stated that “the situation in Maiduguri is under control. The public is requested not to panic but to stay calm.

“The press is please requested to disseminate this information to the public.” (NAN)
