A court has ordered the immediate shutdown of Abia state’s most visited shopping mall, Shoprite over default of Ecobank loan.
Security agencies sealed off the building following court orders.
The management of Shoprite has not been able to fulfill their end of the bargain after it took a loan from a new generation bank.
Shoprite staff confirmed the unfortunate incident to Igbere TV newsmen.
The staff who chose to remain anonymous said “Yes, it’s true… the building has been sealed. It was sealed earlier today. That’s all I can tell you for now”, the staff said.
However, there have been reports that Abia state is not a lucrative location for starting entrepreneurs.
Read reactions from Internet users;
Nothing seems to be working in Abia……shoprite that is almost in every state ……couldn’t take effect in Abia……Menh that state needs liberation
If you have never had a business in abia state and you think of opening one, you better keep your money ooo.
The spirit of indebtedness is spreading everywhere from the government house
Even Shoprite all the way from South Africa isn’t spared
Abians, how una dey take cope? No doubt, Nigerian politicians are useless but the Governors who have ruled Abia State since 1999 seem to be operating on a super-special level of uselessness.
Dem suppose carry the 3 of them and burn them with fuel in broad day light.
Why take Shoprite to a place like DAT
Abia doesn’t deserve a mall.
They deserve filling stations with plenty of kerosene.
