Nigerian Highlife Musician, Sir Victor Olaiya is dead.

The highlife musician died at the ripe age of 89.

This was contained in a statement issued by his record label, Evergreen Music Company who confirmed his death.

Bimbo Esho who is currently the Managing Director of the label said:

“The entire music world wish to announce the death of a Legend of Highlife music, One of  the last man standing, the last of the original Dr Victor Abimbola Olaiya OON..

“We pray that the soul of the Doyen of highlife music find repose with his creator while wishing the family and entire music community the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.”

The Octogenarian performed a remix of his song “Baby Jowo” featurnig 2face Idibia in 2013.
