  • Myth 4: Makeup wipes are best for removing makeup

The daily use of makeup wipes can slowly cause friction and tear at your skin if you are prone to hyperpigmentation. In addition, most makeup wipes contain alcohol that can cause stinging sensations for sensitive skin. Face and oil cleansers should be put to use instead. If you decide to pick wipes, your use should be limited properly.

  • Myth 5: Expensive equals effective

This is one common mistake that people make. You easily hear statements like “I got it for 20,000 naira so it’s obviously going to work” or “there’s no way it won’t give you good results, it’s expensive!”. Well, I’m sorry to burst your fancy bubbles but a product’s price is not key to determining how well it’s going to work. You shouldn’t go as far as tearing your pockets to get a product that doesn’t eventually work for your skin. Buy skin care products that actually give results and not just bedroom-table decorations.

You might need to see a dermatologist if you’re not sure about the steps to take in your skincare journey. It would save you a lot of troubles and complications. One thing that cannot be overemphasized is the fact that we have varying skin types – what works for your best friend might not work for you, so don’t go trying to buy matching facial cleansers or face creams. Lastly, note that your favorite celebrity’s skincare products might not work for your skin. Don’t go for names, go for results.
