Popular and controversial social media personality, VeryDarkMan, has leveled serious allegations against Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), claiming the agency is plotting his arrest. In a video posted on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan expressed concerns over what he described as an orchestrated effort to silence him for his outspoken criticism of the EFCC Chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede.
In his video, the vocal critic alleged that the EFCC has been actively working to fabricate charges against him to justify his arrest. He disclosed that a prominent legal practitioner and a well-known social media influencer had visited the EFCC’s headquarters in Abuja with incriminating materials meant to implicate him.
According to VeryDarkMan, the materials included video clips and a photograph purportedly showing him in a situation where he was seen spraying money. He claimed that these items were presented to EFCC officials as evidence to support an impending case against him.
“Earlier today, EFCC Abuja had two visitors—a big-time lawyer and a famous social media influencer. They submitted clips and a photograph of me, alleging that I was engaged in questionable activities. Their intention was to persuade the EFCC to take action against me,” he stated in his post.
He went further to accuse the EFCC of aligning with these individuals to target him, citing comments reportedly made by EFCC personnel. VeryDarkMan claimed that internal discussions at the Commission suggested a shared agenda of retaliation, following his critical remarks about their leadership and operations.
“I know you’re wondering how I got this information,” he said. “Let’s just say I have my sources within the EFCC. They’re upset because I’ve been vocal about their chairman, and now they’re conspiring to frame me.”
The allegations have sparked widespread discussions on social media, with many questioning the extent of transparency within the EFCC and the influence of external parties in the agency’s activities. While some social media users expressed support for VeryDarkMan, others have called for caution, urging him to provide concrete evidence for his claims.
