Sokoto Gets Ag Chief Judge

Justice Bello Abass was Monday sworn in as the new Acting Chief Judge of Sokoto State by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

He takes over following the retirement of Justice Aisha Dahiru who retired recently.

Speaking at the occasion, Tambuwal urged the new appointee to uphold the tenets of the law, and should work closely with his colleagues to move the judiciary forward.

“Your track record of integrity, commitment to duty and patriotism will no doubt help you in your new assignment. As one of the most punctual judicial officers around, I urge you to stick to the law and apply the law according to the law. On our part, we will continue to provide all the necessary support needed for the development of the judiciary and the state,” the Governor said.

While congratulating the new appointee, Tambuwal urged judicial officers to support him in the discharge of his responsibilities.

In his remarks, the Acting Chief Judge pledged to be fair to all parties, and appealed for support from the bar and the bench to enable him and his team execute their mandate.
