Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, has promised the people of the state that the government would not abandon any project.

He said that government had put machinery in motion to ensure that all projects are executed according to specified standards.

Aliyu, who is also the Commissioner of Works and Transport, made the remark on Thursday in Sokoto during a meeting with members of the state House of Assembly Committee on Works and Transport.

“The government is making all the necessary efforts to ensure that all projects in the state are completed within the stipulated time frame.’’

He said that the legislative and executive arms of government were members of one family who “are working hand-in-hand to move the state to its promise land.’’

Aliyu appealed to the law makers to report any observed lapses in projects being executed by the government for necessary adjustments to be effected.

The chairman of the committee, Alhaji Sani Yakubu (APC-Gudu) lauded the government for the projects so far executed, saying the government had done a lot considering the economic challenges in the country.

He urged the Ministry of Works and Tansport to construct modern trailer parks in the state to reduce traffic congestion and road crashes and boost internally generated revenue. (NAN)
