A South African Pastor met his end while trying to ‘do a Jesus’ and fast for 40 days and 40 nights without food or water.
The 44-year-old South African pastor, Alfred Ndlovu managed 30 days before succumbing to death. He was reported to have left on his spiritual journey on the 17th of June and just like Jesus, he went into the wilderness, or in this case, a bush.
News of his death came as a shock to his family, congregation and community as they had all thought he would pull it off. He was reported to be a deeply religious man who took his faith very seriously.
“He was a very spiritual man. It’s unfortunate he had to die this way. After a month we got the sad news of his death.” said a relative.
“Pastor was a healthy and religious old man who did not even look his age.”
The South African Pastor, Ndlovu had no prior history of illness and was said to be as healthy as a horse before trying to emulate Jesus.
He was discovered by a stranger who then reported the matter to the police who in turn alerted the South African Pastor’s family.
