Popular internet news forum, Nairaland, is a place where many Nigerians go to voice their opinions on the current state of the country and its leaders. It is the most popular indigenous website in the country with over 2.3 million members and 5.2 million topics.

Yesterday, Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, declared a state of emergency on major roads in the state. This came as a welcome development, since many Lagosians suffer untold hardships from accidents, robberies, delays and other maladies brought about by the terrible decay of virtually all roads in the state, however one Nairalander, as Nairaland members are called took to the site to express his displeasure over the Governor’s remarks.

Of concern to the user whose moniker is NSNA,  is the part of the government’s statement which shows how the Governor and Nigerian leaders in general place a premium on foreign ‘anything’ be it contractors, degrees, education, vehicles, trainings, meetings, forums etc.

NSNA posted:

Imagine in a country of millions of engineering graduates. The governor of Lagos is proud to say this –

Julius Berger, Arab Contractors and the other companies involved in our meeting today have been charged to approach our road reconstruction and rehabilitation projects with the highest standards.

I am of the opinion that Sowore and his SPICER-HEAT plan is what can save Nigeria.
Too many clueless leaders in Nigeria leading the masses nowhere
