The All Share Index of the Nigeria Stock Exchange fell by 0.22% in late trading in Lagos today to close at 25,166.01. Total volume traded was 348,211,275.00 at a value of N3,432,845,369.94.
Price losers were banking names as Zenith (-2.51%), Guaranty (-1.81%), ETI (-9.92%), UBA ( -6.25%). Others are FlourMill(-4.76%).
Gainers were Custodian ( 7.69%), Glaxo (7.64%), Guinness(7.17%), MTN and DangCem at 0.87% respectively.
Top traded shares on the exchange are Zenith , Guaranty, FBNH, Access and UBA.
Liquidity was healthy but profit -takers were on the prowl. FBNH notified the exchange of insider dealings on it shares. Cornerstone Insurance submitted its 2019 Audited financial statement and it Q1 2020 Statements to the exchange.
Afromedia Plc submitted it Q2 2020 statement to the exchange. Insurer AIICO notified the exchange on insider dealing by it director within the period, Berger Paints Plc also released its 2019 Financial Statement to the public through the exchange. MRS oil notified the exchange of a closed period on it share until its financial statements are filled with the exchange.
Today marks the end of the trading week as tomorrow is the public holiday, May 29 Democracy Day. Analyst expect the markets to resume on a bullish note next week as all the fundamentals to a positive open are largely intact.
