After coordinated terror attacks on an airport and metro station in Belgium’s capital, Brussels on Tuesday led to the death of scores of people, social media has gone agog with anti-Islamic sentiments.

In many social media posts following the gruesome attacks, many are accusing Islamist fundamentalists of being behind the attacks that has left more than 34 persons dead and many others injured.

However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, although fingers have been pointed at the Islamic State (ISIS) terror group, as the state-owned news agency Belga said that shots were fired and shouts in Arabic were heard before the two explosions.

  • The seed of terrorism was sown long time ago by overzealous and fanatical Islamic preachers, now it is grown and the whole world is reaping its fruits. No where is safe anymore. Let us condemn all forms of religious fanaticism, because it is always an ill wind.
