In a related development, the Senator representing Borno Central, Zannah Ahmed has accused the military of complicity after 210 of his constituents were killed in attacks on four towns,  Dikwa, Kala Balge, Gambulga and Gwoza.

The Senator said the attackers wore army uniforms and spoke good English. Ahmed also stated that army officials in Gamboru refused to respond to a distress call from Kala Balge stating that the area was not under their command.

He said, “It is a must for me to speak since the people lives are involved and they are my people. All these are happening in my constituency and it will be wrong to keep quiet. I feel so much pained and would not have spoken but definitely my conscience will not let me do that.”

He said the attackers used Armored Personnel Carriers and double cabin pickups to launch their attacks.
