You might not think that “Suits” and “Game of Thrones” were similar shows. But, as a new promo for “Suits” Season 3 shows, that would be a mistake. In addition to both programs now featuring Michelle Fairley and Conleith Hill, these are two stories of a cutthroat world in which only the strongest survive.
It works, as anyone can see in this promo for the new season.
Fairley — who, until recently, played Lady Catelyn Stark on “Game of Thrones” — will recur throughout the upcoming season of “Suits” as a wealthy client whose case makes trouble for Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). Hill (best known as the eunuch spy Lord Varys on “Game of Thrones”), meanwhile, returns as Darby, the head of a British law firm set to merge with the Jessica Pearson-run firm of “Suits.”
There probably won’t be quite as much actual bloodshed on “Suits” as on “Game of Thrones,” but the financial and psychological warfare is just as intense. With Harvey and Mike (Patrick J. Adams) starting out the season on bad terms, “Suits” is certain to grow even more tense.
Besides, what other show has a self-described Lannister already on the cast? “Suits” and “Game of Thrones” were obviously made for each other!
