Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has identified the fullback positions as his area of most worry as he said that they did not work hard enough against DR Congo.

The Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Congo in a preparation match for the World Cup which takes place in about 2 weeks.

According to SCORENigeria, Rohr said; “We have some problems with our fullbacks, but we will work on this. We have a few days to be ready,”

Elderson Echiejile started at left-back, while Tyronne Ebuehi was at right-back on the day against Congo.

Rohr also said that one of the fullbacks will be staying back as he will be taking only four to Russia.

“We have five fullbacks, we can only take four (to World Cup),” he said.

Rohr has also praised the abilities of  Francis Uzoho, the 19-year-old Goalkeeper who just might be in goal for Nigeria at the World Cup.

Speaking about the youngster, Rohr said; “It’s an indication (he could be No 1),”

“He hasn’t played too much with us as he came after the World Cup qualifiers

“We wanted to see the young goalkeeper play for the first time in Nigeria

“I think he did well, he did what he had to do.”
