Nigerian Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi will miss the 2021 AFCON qualification game against Benin Republic after testing positive for COVID-19.
Players and staff members of the Super Eagles took mandatory coronavirus tests before leaving Nigeria and immediately they landed in Porto Novo on Friday.
According to reports, Iwobi has been withdrawn from the team and he’s expected to take another test to ascertain his condition.

The news comes as a major blow for Gernot Rohr as he looks to get the Eagles over the line and secure their ticket to Cameroon.
Benin Republic and Nigeria are scheduled to play in a second-leg Group L tie, 5pm local time in Porto-Novo.
