The Super Eagles are out of the World Cup and will only be able to strut their stuff in another four years. The rebuilding process has got to start now.

However, there is some fallout from the current situation as reports have emerged that Super Eagles star, Tyronne Ebuehi, who now plays for Benfica, is angry at coach Gernot Rohr over his lack of playing time.

The defender who can play both right and left back was angry that his place was taken by Bryan Idowu who was played instead against Argentina and Argentina’s first goal came from the left side as Lionel Messi smashed the ball past Francis Uzoho in goal.

Ebuehi who is born to a Dutch mother and a Nigerian father was had initially rejected Nigeria in 2016 before finally accepting a call-up in 2017.

He was angry at missing out of the Argentina game, but Rohr said that Idowu deserved his chance.

“Idowu was very solid in the team. He’s much better defensively and did very well against Messi. He has experience and can play on both sides of the flanks,” Rohr said

“Ebuehi is a fantastic player offensively.  He played well against Iceland but he is still very young and still learning.  He will definitely improve defensively and become a very important player for the team in the future.”
