Suspected bandits abducted students of the Government Science Secondary School Kankara, Katsina, on Friday night.
Eyewitness reports confirm that the abduction happened at 10:15 p.m
A police officer securing the school entrance was shot and left severely wounded.
The wife of one of the school’s employees was also kidnapped along with an unconfirmed number of students.
The Nigerian Army arrived at the scene and engaged the armed men.
During the gun shootout, a number of students escaped.
