Suspected Coronavirus Carrier Declared Wanted in Abia

A suspected carrier of the Coronavirus has been declared wanted in Abia State.

One Vincent Prosper was declared wanted by the State Ministry of Health and the State Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19.

According to a statement by the State commissioner for information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, Mr. Prosper sneaked into Abia from a neighbouring State.

The statement also stated that the wanted Coronavirus carrier was last seen at 153 Azikiwe Road Aba. The public was urged to contact the Abia State commissioner for Health, Dr. Osuji or call 0700 2242 362 if Mr. Prosper is sighted.

The statement also announced an extension of the lockdown order in the state explaining that the decision was taken based on the prevailing situation and the advice of experts.

The state government however announced a two day break; Saturday and Sunday, for people living in the state to restock.

The state government also advised people to shop for facemasks as it has now become compulsory to wear facemasks in public spaces.

The statement concluded that the borders of Abia State will remain closed.
