A Cleric was apprehended and questioned over his alleged involvement in the sponsorship of the Niger Delta Avengers militant group.
Police in Warri nabbed the Pastor who was also accused of stashing weapons for the militant group in his home.
Although, Police later reported that nothing incriminating was found upon searching the cleric’s house.
The Bishop, (name is witheld) is the presiding bishop of the New Salvation Zion Church of Christ at Igbodu area of the city and is reported to be an indigene of Ogbinbiri community of Egbema (Ijaw) Kingdom in the Warri North council area of the state.
The Bishop’s interrogation which lasted about 12 hours was conducted at the Warri area command of the Delta state police command, the police thereafter let the cleric go with directive that he should return the next day.
