Bayelsa APC leader, Jonathan-Omo Dies After Falling from Balcony

The former Commissioner for Environment in Bayelsa state, Chief Lionel Jonathan-Omo is dead. He was said to have fallen from a balcony in his country home in Ogbolomabiri, Nembe Local Government Area of the state.

In his reaction against the sad event, the state publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Doifie Buokoribo, stated that it was a colossal loss which came at the time when his valuable contributions are needed in the state.

The statement reads: ‘’it is with great sadness that we pay this tribute to our departed leader, brother and friend.

‘’Chief Jonathan fell and broke his limbs and gallantly struggled to survive the accident but it was so unfortunate that he couldn’t make it.

‘’He died on Thursday after some medical treatment which was not successful. It is very sad that we lost him at a time when his political experience was really needed in our state.

‘’Jonathan-Omo who is from Nembe was a trained lawyer and even lectured in the University of science and technology for some years.

‘’Till he died, he was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and served as the Deputy Campaign Director-General of the Sylva/Igiri Campaign Organisation’’.

The late Jonathan was a writer and strongly advocated that Nigeria be returned to commercial agriculture.
