Taraba APC Youths Reject Governor Agbu Kefas’ Reported Defection to Party
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youths Council in Taraba State has rejected the reported defection of Governor Agbu Kefas to the ruling party, describing the move as unacceptable and against the core ideals of the APC.
In a statement released on Thursday in Jalingo, the council said youth leaders from across the state convened and unanimously passed a vote of no confidence in the governor, insisting that his political ideology and leadership style do not reflect the progressive values of the APC.
“We, the youths of APC in Taraba State, unanimously reject the defection of Governor Agbu Kefas into our great party. He is not a progressive leader, and APC is not a party for his caliber. Our stand is clear — we are not in support of his coming,” said State Coordinator Bilyamin Musa.
The group accused Governor Kefas of lacking vision and capacity, alleging that his two years in office had failed to deliver meaningful development to the people of Taraba State.
The APC youths urged the national leadership of the party to heed the concerns of Taraba members and ensure that the party remains a platform for disciplined, development-driven, and visionary leaders.
Reaffirming their loyalty to the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the council pledged continued commitment to strengthening the party and mobilizing grassroots support across the state.
