Taraba: PDP’s Agbu wins governorship election

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Agbu Kefas has been declared winner of the March 18 governorship election in Taraba State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the PDP candidate’s victory in an announcement early Tuesday.

State Returning Officer, Prof. M.A. Abdulaziz said Agbu won after results from the 16 local government areas of the state were collated.

Abdulaziz said the PDP candidate got 257,926 votes to emerge winner, Prof. Muhammad Yahaya of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) got 202,277 votes for first runner-up and Senator Emmanuel Bwacha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) go 142,502 votes for second runner-up.

Agbu is a retired Nigerian Army lieutenant colonel and former PDP state chairman in Taraba.
